Hanna van den Barselaar-Smith, a Grade 5 student, recently shone at the South African Championships of Performing Arts, representing KZN and winning 5 golds, 1 silver, and 1 bronze in dancing and aerial silks. She was named Overall Junior Champion in aerial silks U12 and received the Grand Champion Aerial Award for the best overall female performance.
Additionally, Hanna won the Overall Grand Junior Champion Trophy for the top U15 performance across all categories, including dance, vocal, instrumental, acting, modeling, and aerial. As a result of her achievements, she earned a fully paid trip to represent South Africa at the World Championships of Performing Arts in July 2025 in Los Angeles.
