Intersen

The ethos of the Intersen Phase of the Junior College is based on the words of our School Song, “This College was founded on faith in You, in this faith may Ashton grow and flourish”. We proudly combine our Christian values with excellence in learning to ensure that each child is taught and nurtured as an individual so that they may develop according to their strengths. Our philosophy is grounded in faith and humility, focusing on serving our Ashton family and the greater Ballito community.

“Start children off on the way they should go,
and even when they are old they will not turn from it.”

Proverbs 22:6

The Intersen Phase is led by a team of incredible and talented teachers who give their hearts to educating and moulding our precious students into independent, creative and confident young members of society. Our focus is on developing and maintaining a strong work ethic while encouraging a growth mindset which promotes critical thinking skills.

We boast an extensive extramural programme, offering a wide variety of sporting and cultural choices. Sport includes the traditional summer and winter sporting codes as well as many other team and individual activities. Our Arts & Cultural Department offers Chess, Drama, Art Club, Choir, Marimba Band and many vocal and instrument lessons too.

“Our children are our greatest treasure. They are our future.” Nelson Mandela
