From 18 to 21 June 2025, Ashton International College Ballito proudly showcased its Senior College theatrical production of Disney’s Beauty and the Beast. This much-anticipated event brought the classic tale of love, courage, and transformation to the Ashton stage, captivating audiences of all ages.
Directed by Ms. Tara Blake, the production featured a talented cast of Senior College students who dedicated months of hard work to bring the beloved story to life. “Beauty and the Beast is more than just a fairytale,” said Ms. Blake. “It’s a powerful reminder of the importance of kindness, seeing beyond appearances, and believing in change.”
The storyline followed a prince transformed into a beast as punishment for his lack of compassion. To break the curse, he had to learn to love—and earn love in return—from a young woman named Belle, whom he held captive in his enchanted castle.
Megan Roberts shone in the role of Belle, while Stavros Vassilatos delivered a powerful performance as the Beast. Audiences were enchanted by the show’s vibrant costumes, moving musical numbers, and heartfelt performances. The production was a true celebration of student talent and creativity, marking a memorable highlight on the Ashton cultural calendar.
