We’re proud to celebrate two of Ashton’s rising golf stars for their exceptional performances on the fairways!

A huge congratulations to Matthew Smith, our talented Form 2 golfer, who tied for 9th place in the Boys U15 division at the prestigious Champion of Champions World Invitational held at the world-renowned Lough Erne Resort in Northern Ireland. This elite, invitation-only event brings together the top 40 junior golfers from around the globe, each earning their place through outstanding results in their home country’s qualifying tournaments.

Matthew secured his spot after an impressive 2nd place finish at the 2024 SA Kids Junior Africa Challenge at San Lameer. Now in its fifth year, the Champion of Champions—sponsored by Flogas and the Fermanagh and Omagh District Council—has become a highlight on the junior golf calendar, attracting nearly 2,500 spectators and offering players an unmatched blend of elite competition, warm hospitality, and breathtaking scenery.

We also applaud Matric student, Callum Lingley, for his superb performance at the SA Nomads U19 National Order of Merit tournament in Johannesburg, where he placed T18 against a field of nearly 100 of South Africa’s top young golfers.

Well done, Matthew and Callum—you continue to make Ashton proud with your talent, dedication, and sportsmanship. Here’s to many more fairways, birdies, and big wins ahead!
